On Saturday, in the presence of the Minister of Development, Cseke Attila, and the mayors of the region, the order authorizing the start of works for the introduction of the gas network was signed. This is a large-scale project with a total value, including VAT, exceeding 62 million lei. Of this amount, approximately 7 million lei represents the co-financing provided by the Timiș County Council, while another 3 million lei comes from the budgets of the twelve municipalities that are members of the Intercommunity Development Association for Gas Distribution in Eastern Timiș County.
“Community development also involves investments of this kind. The extension of the gas network brings real benefits to the eastern part of Timiș County. This is a major step we are taking now, and we will implement similar projects in other parts of the county as well. Together with local authorities, the Timiș County Council is committed to co-financing the investment carried out under the ‘Anghel Saligny’ National Development Program, so that more and more residents of the county can be connected to the gas network. The fact that we have now signed the order to start the works proves that we were right when we said that suspending such investments is not appropriate at all,” said Alfred Simonis, President of the Timiș County Council.
“This is an important project for local communities, as well as for the Ministry of Development. We are talking about a joint, coordinated investment which, I am convinced, will deliver the desired results. It is the second-largest project in Timiș County financed under the Anghel Saligny program and the twentieth nationwide,” stated Minister of Development Cseke Attila.
The beneficiaries of the program are the following localities: Făget, Margina, Curtea, Ferdea, Bara, Bârna, Ohaba Lungă, Mănăștiur, Dumbrava, Traian Vuia, Coșteiu, Balinț, and Bethausen.
The network will have a total length of 116 kilometers, and in the first phase approximately 1,800 households will be connected. The deadline for completing the investment is 20 months from the start of the works.
On behalf of the locality of Dumbrava, the important document was signed by Deputy Mayor János Ihász.
